Tightest of beats feels like an appropriate title for an instrumental called “Tight Rope”. An absolute dream team, 9ICK, Glimlip, Slug, and Rasmus Sørensen re-instated my hope and love for the genre thanks to a beat that feels both modern and timeless.
I love the futuristic wobbly energy of the track; it reminds me of the 2018-2019 era, where pretty much everything on my radar was dope. This exceptional group of musicians merges live jazz instrumentation with modern beat production – crisp drums, upright piano, and melodic horn lines with just enough tension to keep it moving.
